The highly anticipated release of Disney Cars 2 was…

HaHa!! You are going to have to read on for the completion of that statement.

My family is completely immersed in Cars. We love the characters. We love the first movie Cars. We love the diecast cars we are collecting. We love CarsToons. We love all the books with different stories about the characters which are not part of the movie. We love KMart Cars Collector Days. We love surfing the collector blogs looking for the place to find the new diecast release. We LOVE CARS.

Anticipation… Anxious… Excited… Those are all words to describe the wait for Cars 2. The original movie was release on Friday, June 9, 2006. It was a long, agonizing wait for Friday, June 24, 2011 to come around 5 years and 15 days later. Sorry Metroxing on TakeFiveADay, you math of 4 years and 264 days is incorrect, unless time is measured differently in your universe… Are your cars traveling close to the speed of light???

On Sunday, June 26th, 2011, we got in line to purchase our tickets. We received a sticker book. My son was so excited since it was his first theatrical experience. His eyes were wide open and his body was shaking with excitement.

With popcorn in hand, we headed for the theater to choose our seats. The lights dimmed. The previews started and he was in awe by being in the theater for the first time. As far as Cars 2... a disappointment. Sure it was action packed, awesome animation, and funny at times but for me and my husband. My son didn't get it... and it didn't hold his interest. Unlike the first movie which was about friendship and finding home, Cars 2 did not have a simple concept for the younger fans to grasp. Watching the original Cars recently reminded me that its simplicity was its beauty.

All in all, Cars 2 is an exciting adventure that brings places from all around the world and their cultures to the screen. It also shows the importance of family and friends and that anyone can be a hero. Even though the youngest fans may not fully understand the concepts, it is definitely worth a view. I will definitely be in line to buy the DVD on November 1st so my son can grow with this movie.

And that's Just About It!
